A world premiere will take place on Sunday in Munich’s Olympic Park as many of the world’s best biathletes gather for an urban showcase. Sixty women and sixty men will tackle a super‑sprint on roller skis in the heart of Bavaria’s capital, with thousands of spectators expected.

Numerous top stars have signed on, including overall World Cup title holder Sturla Holm Lægreid. Austria will be represented by Simon Eder, David Komatz and Patrick Jakob on the men’s side, and by Lisa Hauser, Anna Gandler and Lara Wagner among the women.

“Winter sports are facing tougher times, so we have to come up with new ideas,” said Pinzgau native Simon Eder, praising the international federation (IBU). “Everything is set for a proper biathlon festival!”

Former world champion Lisa Hauser also believes the event will be a success: “The IBU has come up with something great—this is a big deal. And the supporting program is impressive.”

Fans can look forward to a meet‑and‑greet with legends such as Magdalena Neuner and Arnd Peiffer, plus a concert by chart‑topping artist Kamrad. “There’s something for everyone,” Austria’s athletes smiled.
