The race for the women’s Biathlon World Cup Crystal Globe is underway, and a cluster of established stars are poised to contend.
Italy fields two leading names. Dorothea Wierer returns as a perennial threat thanks to her shooting consistency and experience across formats, while Lisa Vittozzi, fresh off strong recent seasons and a key role in Italy’s mixed relay, is again among the favorites.
France brings Lou Jeanmonnot, whose rapid progress and all‑round strengths—fast range work and improving ski speed—make her a podium regular. Germany relies on Franziska Preuß, whose form and resilience keep her in the mix when healthy and consistent.
Norway’s Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, a past overall winner and mass‑start force, remains a major factor thanks to her big‑race composure and relay leadership. From Sweden, the Öberg sisters—Elvira, with high ski pace and aggressive tactics, and Hanna, renowned for championship pedigree and precision—both have the tools to mount a season‑long challenge.
With multiple contenders capable of winning on any given weekend, the World Cup looks set for a wide‑open battle through to the season finale in March, where the Crystal Globe will be decided.
