Coach on Hanna Öberg: “The best Hanna I’ve seen”
Originally published in SVT Sport on October 02, 2025
Sweden’s biathlon shooting coach Jean‑Marc Chabloz is highly optimistic about Hanna Öberg’s condition heading into the winter. Although Öberg missed the national team’s early‑September high‑altitude camp in France due to a mild cold, Chabloz downplays any concerns and calls it a normal, minor setback.
According to Chabloz, Öberg’s overall summer has been excellent both on the shooting range and in physical training. He believes this has been her strongest pre‑season to date and points to her impressive form at the Swedish roller‑biathlon national championships in August as evidence.
Öberg herself had written “the plan has gone off the rails” on Instagram when illness forced her to skip the camp, but Chabloz emphasizes that such disruptions can be caused by weather or other small factors and are not unusual.
The 2025–26 Biathlon World Cup season is scheduled to start on November 29 in Östersund, and SVT will broadcast all events.
