Biathlon: Sweden’s boost — Elvira Öberg returns: “I feel fit and healthy”

Good news from Sweden’s biathlon camp in Östersund: Elvira Öberg is back and ready for Tuesday’s distance race.

After being ill over the weekend and missing the home World Cup opener in Östersund, Öberg says she now feels better and will compete in the women’s 15 km individual on Tuesday.

“I feel fit and healthy; we’ll see how the body reacts. Hopefully it will feel good,” she told SVT Sport. She added that it will be a tough race and, since they rarely ski such long distances, keeping focus on the range will be crucial because that’s where the race will be decided.

The women’s 15 km individual World Cup race in Östersund is scheduled for Tuesday, with TV coverage on SVT and SVT Play from 15:20.
