Biathlon home World Cup: Hochfilzen ready thanks to 15,000 m³ of snow

After Lisa Hauser’s sensational win in the women’s pursuit in Östersund last Sunday, the biathlon circuit now heads to the home region of the 31‑year‑old Tyrolean. From Friday to Sunday, six races are on the program in Hochfilzen.
Organizers report that, despite a sudden warm spell with temperatures reaching +10°C and rapid melting of natural snow, the venue is ready. Approximately 15,000 cubic meters of stored/produced snow will ensure the tracks and stadium remain race‑worthy so that the full World Cup program can be held as planned.
The article frames Hochfilzen’s swift shift from a deeply snow‑covered “winter wonderland” last week to spring‑like conditions, and emphasizes that snow management has secured the event.
