Biathlon: Linn Gestblom suffered heart palpitations – skipped interviews after the pursuit

Swedish biathlete Linn Gestblom did not go through the mixed zone for interviews after placing 26th in the women’s pursuit. According to SVT Sport’s on‑site reporter Johan Kücükaslan, Gestblom suffered episodes of heart palpitations and needed to rest.
The national team staff indicated that, given her symptoms and a prior history of similar issues, Gestblom is likely to skip next week’s World Cup round in Annecy – Le Grand‑Bornand. “Of course it’s worrying,” SVT expert Björn Ferry said regarding the heart problems coming on top of the shoulder troubles she has dealt with earlier.
In the race, Gestblom opened strongly with three clean shooting stages but incurred three misses in the final standing bout, which dropped her down the order to 26th at the finish.
