Lisa Vittozzi, the overall winner of the 2023/24 Biathlon World Cup, explains that she sat out the past season because of ongoing back issues. The Italian star describes the layoff as a tough period both physically and mentally, but says the break allowed her to heal properly.
Now cleared to return, Vittozzi sets her sights on the road to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan–Cortina. She emphasizes building up health and consistency first, then targeting major results as the Olympic season approaches. Competing for medals at a home Games is her primary long‑term goal.
The video appears in SPORT1’s biathlon section alongside related clips on trends in biathlon, national team depth discussions, and athletes’ preparations at the Loop One Festival in Munich.
