Ponsiluoma just off the podium in Hochfilzen sprint after one miss: “Very happy”

Martin Ponsiluoma narrowly missed the podium in the men’s World Cup sprint in Hochfilzen, Austria. After shooting clean in prone, he incurred a single penalty in the final standing stage—the only miss among his ten shots—which left him sixth.
“I'm really happy today. Nine hits, I’m definitely super pleased,” Ponsiluoma said after the race.
Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson showed strong ski speed but missed once in prone and once in standing, coming home ninth, just behind Ponsiluoma. The victory went to Italy’s Tommaso Giacomel, with France’s Éric Perrot second and Germany’s Philipp Horn third.
