The men’s biathlon pursuit at the World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria, takes place on Saturday with Italy’s Tommaso Giacomel starting first after his sprint victory on Friday.
Chasing him are several contenders, including Sweden’s Martin Ponsiluoma, who placed sixth in the sprint, and Sebastian Samuelsson, who was three places behind in ninth. Radiosporten expert Uschi Disl says Ponsiluoma has the potential to reach the podium if he shoots well, but she nevertheless sees Samuelsson as Sweden’s stronger bet for a top result.
The men’s pursuit starts at 12:00. Later in the day, at 14:15, the women’s relay is scheduled.
The piece also notes Swedish interest around Hanna Öberg, alongside the broader Swedish team focus for the Hochfilzen weekend.
