France’s Eric Perrot and Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi captured the IBU LOOP ONE festival races held on a compact city loop in Munich’s Olympic Park, an inaugural biathlon showcase that drew thousands of fans.

Men’s 10 km super sprint - Winner: Eric Perrot (FRA), 20:33.7, 3 penalties - 2nd: Isac Frey (NOR), +5.7, 3 penalties - 3rd: Justus Strelow (GER/SG Stahl Schmiedeberg), +8.9, 1 penalty - Also for Germany: Lucas Fratzscher (WSV Oberhof) placed 12th with 6 penalties, +1:02.6. - Perrot earned a €12,000 winner’s prize.

Women’s race - Winner: Lisa Vittozzi (ITA), 23:44.5, 2 penalties - 2nd: Johanna Skottheim (SWE), +5.9, 2 penalties - 3rd: Anna Magnusson (SWE), +7.4, 2 penalties - 4th: Anna Weidel (GER/WSV Kiefersfelden), +18.8, 1 penalty. Weidel, stepping in for the injured Franziska Preuß, was the only DSV athlete to reach the final and was in podium contention until the last shooting.

Event notes - The Munich “Super Sprint” was a preseason exhibition and did not award World Cup points. - Roughly 11,000 spectators watched the men’s race in the Olympic Park, underscoring strong interest in the new urban biathlon format.
