Swedish cross-country skiing talent Alvar Myhlback will line up for his first World Cup start in Ruka following an impressive showing in Gällivare the previous weekend.
The 19-year-old outlines that his main objective for the season is the long-distance circuit, where he intends to complete the full series, but he does not rule out adjusting plans if an Olympic opportunity arises. “There’s probably no one who wouldn’t think the Olympics would be a bit of fun,” Myhlback admits, describing the anticipation for Ruka as “like an exciting movie.”
The short piece notes his trajectory into the senior international scene and frames Ruka’s World Cup opener as a key early marker for his winter, even as his primary focus remains on the marathon-style Ski Classics events.
