Sweden’s Anton Grahn was knocked out in the sprint quarterfinals in Ruka after a costly mistake on the final downhill. Despite feeling stronger than in the prologue and starting his heat well, he chose to switch lanes late, then suffered poor glide and was overtaken by five competitors on the descent.
Grahn described the moment as a mental lapse, saying his “brain just froze,” and frustration set in as he realized the race was gone. The sprint took place at the World Cup event in Ruka, Finland.
