In the final race of the season, the renowned Norwegian skier Therese Johaug experienced a disappointing defeat in the 37-kilometer Skarverennet race, finishing over two minutes behind Astrid Øyre Slind, who showcased an impressive performance.

This race marked the conclusion of the ski season, which featured several top athletes including both Johaug and Slind. Johaug, a ski icon, had hinted at continuing her career for another season but faced a significant challenge during the event.

"I gave it all I had from the start. I tried to manage my speed, but I think it became too difficult for me," Slind remarked after her victory, which came with a time of 2:36 ahead of Johaug.

Johaug mentioned that she needs more time to decide her future:

"I’m tired after a long and eventful season, and I feel I’m not ready to make a decision about what comes next."

On the men's side, Simen Hegstad Krüger claimed victory in the same event.
