Nearly 90 participants — including 85 Technical Delegates and TD Candidates, along with three auditors — gathered in Val di Fiemme, Italy, from October 17–19, 2025, for the Neutral and Central Eastern Europe TD Seminar.

The seminar was promoted by FIS and hosted by the local Organizing Committee of Nordic Ski WM Val di Fiemme, at the venue that will stage the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Representatives from 25 nations attended.

Over three days, the program featured lessons on jury work, updates to rules, homologation, rollerski, popular and Para Cross-Country Skiing. Participants also took part in video sessions and practical fieldwork in groups, followed by in-depth discussions on course and stadium preparation — fostering a strong exchange of expertise and ideas.

Speakers represented seven countries — Canada, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Norway, and Slovenia — and included: the TDs of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Chair of the Cross-Country Committee, the FIS Race Director and Assistant Race Director, the Chair of the FIS Rules and Control Sub-Committee, and the Sport Manager of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

A highlight was a video session led by multiple World Champion and Olympic medallist Pål Golberg (NOR) and World Cup athlete Anna Comarella (ITA), who shared first‑hand athlete perspectives with the TDs. Additional viewpoints came from Paolo Rivero, Technical Director for Italian youth and children (coach’s perspective), and guest speaker Federica Guarniero (UCI MTB & Cyclocross; President of the Commissaires’ Panel at Paris 2024), who outlined similarities and differences between sports to inspire cross‑disciplinary learning.

The Val di Fiemme seminar underlined the importance of collaboration and shared knowledge within the Cross‑Country community, aiming to ensure continued excellence and consistency in TD work across all levels of FIS competitions.
