Sweden’s Ebba Andersson secured a long-awaited podium in the women’s skiathlon at the World Cup stop in Trondheim, finishing third. The American Jessie Diggins took the victory ahead of Norway’s Heidi Weng.
“It was a tight battle among many of us for those podium places at the end, so I’m very happy to be one of the three who grabbed one,” Andersson told Radiosporten after the race.
Swedish teammates Moa Ilar and Frida Karlsson narrowly missed the podium in fourth and fifth, respectively.
