Ebba Andersson on the relay chaos: "Crisis and panic"
Ebba Andersson spoke to Radiosporten after a heavy Saturday at the Winter Olympics, where Sweden's hopes in the women's cross‑country relay were wrecked by a series of incidents. Andersson says she suffered two falls during her leg of the race and that the situation quickly spiralled.
"I got quite stressed after the first fall. Then my legs became stiff and there was a bit too much passivity going downhill and before I knew it I somersaulted," she told Radiosporten. In the second fall she lost her ski and it took time before she got a replacement. "A nightmare outcome. Then it was crisis and panic," Andersson said.
Radiosporten's report noted that the mishaps cost Sweden its shot at gold in the women's relay at the Milano‑Cortina 2026 Olympics (the Games) and included a photo of Andersson after the race. The article is a brief athlete reaction piece focused on her account of the falls and the immediate emotional aftermath.
