Cross‑country: Edvin Anger takes a podium in the 20 km pursuit

Edvin Anger secured a podium place when the 20 km pursuit stage was decided. After a disaster on Wednesday’s stage — where Anger finished 78th and was the worst‑placed Swede — he bounced back strongly in the following day’s pursuit. He skied aggressively from the start and stayed in contention for a medal, ultimately holding on to third place after a dramatic final sprint with Italy’s Federico Pellegrino.
Anger, 23, described the result as "just a relief" and said he fought hard: "I'm totally exhausted. I still managed to gather strength at the end." He recalled lying on the ground after the previous stage, seeing stars, and that the announcement of his third place helped him find energy to get up.
The result moves Anger to third in the overall standings. Norway’s Johannes Høsflot Klæbo dominated the race from start to finish and is charging toward a fifth consecutive overall Tour de Ski victory. Mattis Stenshagen finished second overall in the stage.
The report includes reactions and video interviews with several Tour de Ski athletes, and notes other Swedish performances and incidents from the event.
