Norwegian skier Einar Hedegart continued his breakthrough season by winning the men’s 10 km freestyle (skate) World Cup race in Davos, Switzerland. The former professional biathlete, who only last season competed in biathlon, clocked 22:40.70 to take his second consecutive World Cup victory in this discipline after triumphing in Trondheim on December 7.

Hedegart topped an all‑Norwegian podium, with Harald Østberg Amundsen second in 22:52.40 and Mattis Stenshagen third in 22:59.50. Norway’s depth was on full display: seven Norwegians finished inside the top ten, occupying the first five positions overall. Britain’s Andrew Musgrave broke the Norwegian streak as the first non‑Norwegian in sixth with 23:11.80.

France enjoyed a bright outing behind the Norwegian dominance. Mathis Desloges finished ninth in 23:20.30 and Hugo Lapalus tenth in 23:23.00, a notable improvement after they placed 30th and 37th respectively in the previous 10 km skate at Trondheim.

After five World Cup starts this season, Hedegart now has two wins and four podiums. “It was one of my best days on skis. I’m very happy to win this race. The altitude didn’t bother me, and I felt from the start it would be a good day,” he said after the finish.
