• The Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim turned into a financial fiasco. The organizing company had budgeted for a surplus of SEK 15–20 million but is instead facing a very large deficit—potentially as much as SEK 50 million.

• The next Nordic World Ski Championships in Sweden will be held in Falun in February 2027. The championships’ CEO, Jonas Peterson, told Radiosporten that he is not worried, but the organization must be especially thorough to avoid repeating Trondheim’s experience.

• “We need to put in place a sharp organization with specialist knowledge in the different areas,” Peterson said, emphasizing careful planning, governance, and cost control.
