Sweden has named former biathlon star Fredrik Lindström as the new physician for the national junior cross‑country skiing team.
Lindström, 36, ended his athletic career in 2019 and finished his medical degree earlier this summer. Announcing the appointment, he called the role “a real dream job.”
The move brings a high‑level ex‑athlete with recent medical training into the Swedish junior setup for cross‑country skiing, aiming to strengthen athlete health and support during training camps and competitions.
