Frida Karlsson bursts out laughing at biathlon question: “It would be dangerous”

Swedish cross-country skier Frida Karlsson drew attention after appearing at the Swedish biathlon team’s training camp in France in October. Asked whether she is considering a switch to biathlon, the 26‑year‑old burst into laughter.
“It would be dangerous if I started handling a rifle,” Karlsson said, adding that the shooting was tougher than she had imagined.
Karlsson clarified that she joined the camp primarily to work with her physiotherapist, Marcus Bystedt, who is part of the biathlon team’s staff. “We have some of the best biathletes and cross-country skiers in the world. If we can use our strengths together, we can become even stronger,” she noted, while emphasizing she is still driven solely by cross-country skiing.
She plans to compete next weekend at the Swedish season opener in Gällivare.
