Swedish cross-country star Frida Karlsson is considering adding the sprint to her Olympic program at Milan–Cortina 2026.
“I don’t want to close any doors,” she told SVT Sport. Although sprint has not been her primary target, she says she is “keen” to take on the challenge.
Karlsson noted that last season she raced only one sprint—the World Cup opener in Ruka—but will line up for the sprint at Sweden’s season-opening races in Gällivare this weekend. Asked if she would raise her hand to the national team staff for sprint selection, she answered that she shouldn’t need to if she proves it on the course: “I’ll do what I can.”
