Cross-country: The Olympic gold Frida Karlsson wants most

Frida Karlsson reveals that there is one Olympic gold medal she wants more than any other, and she explains why in an interview with SVT Sport, noting that the idea gives her “Johan Olsson vibes.”

Following her World Championship triumphs in Trondheim, Karlsson says she has taken an atypical approach to preparation. She has trained almost entirely on roller skis and has done little on-snow training since the World Championships.

“I did a film shoot in Ramsau this summer, but apart from that, the World Championships were the last time I stood on a pair of skis,” she says.

Karlsson’s comments come as Swedish cross‑country stars outline their paths toward the 2026 Winter Olympics, where she hopes to convert her World Championship form into Olympic gold.
