Cross-country: Johanna Hagström dropped from the team sprint in Davos

Johanna Hagström, who won the World Cup sprint in Trondheim last weekend, has been left out of Sweden’s lineup for the team sprint in Davos.
“It’s tough to leave out someone who has won in the World Cup,” Hagström told SVT Sport, adding that she had really wanted to race. “It’s always tough not to get to start, but I understand someone has to be left out. I’ll look at the upside — I’ll have fresh legs for the individual sprint.”
Sweden will start two women’s pairs in Friday’s team sprint in Davos: Maja Dahlqvist with Jonna Sundling, and Emma Ribom with Linn Svahn.
On the men’s side, Sweden’s pairs will be Johan Häggström with Edvin Anger, and Emil Danielsson with Anton Grahn.
The decision underscores the fierce competition for places in Sweden’s women’s sprint team following strong early-season results.
