Swedish cross‑country skier Calle Halfvarsson will not start this weekend’s competitions in Östersund because of illness, he confirmed to Sportbladet.
The 36‑year‑old had targeted the Scandinavian Cup races to rebuild form and results, with the goal of earning his way back into the World Cup and, ultimately, contention for an Olympic berth at Milan–Cortina 2026. Despite isolating in a mountain cabin in recent days to recover, the illness has halted his planned comeback for now.
