Sweden’s Moa Ilar reached the podium at the FIS Cross‑Country World Cup in Davos, placing second in the women’s 10 km freestyle.
Pre‑race expectations centered on a battle among Ilar, Norway’s Astrid Øyre Slind, and the United States’ Jessie Diggins. However, Diggins had a difficult day, which opened the door for a surprise outcome. Norway’s Karoline Simpson‑Larsen delivered a sensational upset to win the race, with Øyre Slind taking third place.
Just behind the podium, Sweden’s Maja Dahlqvist recorded the best distance finish of her career, ending up fourth and only four seconds from third place.
