In Pori, it's been raining for the second consecutive day, but skiing is still possible. The first skiing route has been opened in Porin metsä (Pori forest).
Approximately one kilometer long, the loop around the lake can be easily accessed via Ilmailuopistontie, near the hammer exchange.
"Despite the challenging weather conditions, the base for the loop around the lake has been completed and it is now in skiable condition," said Juha-Pekka Veneskivi, responsible for sports facilities, in a statement.
With the completion of the tracks, access to Katinkuru trail from the swimming pool area is now through the northern side of the tennis courts, and walking through the swimming pool area along the track is prohibited for safety reasons.
Those wishing to walk on the walking paths of Katinkuru and Porin forest should primarily access from the parking lot by the stadium.
"The tracks are intended solely for skiing, and it's important for safety that they are not walked on," Veneskivi reminds us.
