Cross-country: Johannes Høsflot Klæbo on World Cup weekend: “Annoyed with myself”

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo admitted he was “just annoyed” with himself after a frustrating World Cup weekend in Davos.
On Saturday, the Norwegian star’s run of 18 consecutive sprint wins ended in a quarterfinal exit after he botched the same corner twice. In his frustration, he tore his bib and went straight back to the hotel without giving interviews.
A day later, Klæbo rebounded with fourth place in the men’s 10 km, a result he called acceptable and part of an upward trend: seventh last week and fourth in Davos. “It’s okay. It is what it is. We’re getting closer week by week,” he told SVT Sport.
The men’s 10 km was won by the surprise of the day, Einar Hedegart, who recently switched from biathlon to cross-country. “It’s impressive—there’s no doubt he can skate,” Klæbo said.
