Racing at home on the Trondheim course, Norway’s Johannes Høsflot Klæbo dominated the men’s classic sprint to earn his 100th World Cup victory, achieved in only 177 career World Cup starts. The double Olympic sprint champion controlled the day from qualifying through the heats and comfortably won the final.

He was followed by compatriot Oskar Opstad Vike in second place. The only non‑Norwegian in the final, Sweden’s Alvar Myhlback, took third.

For France, it was a difficult day. After a strong season opener in Ruka, Jules Chappaz once again qualified easily but was eliminated in the quarterfinals, boxed in to fourth at the last corner. Richard Jouve improved to reach the quarters after missing out in Ruka but also failed to advance to the semifinals. Back from a tibial stress fracture after three months out, Lucas Chanavat qualified well but faded and finished 40th, noting his short and complicated preparation.

In the women’s race, there was an upset early exit for Kristine Stavås Skistad, the Ruka sprint winner, who went out in the quarterfinals. A crash‑marred final ended with an all‑Swedish podium: Johanna Hagström won ahead of Emma Ribom and Linn Svahn. France’s Léna Quintin placed 47th in qualifying.

The event is part of the FIS Cross‑Country World Cup stop in Trondheim.
