Swedish cross-country skier Linn Svahn has been ruled out of the Tour de Ski after reporting an injury issue.
According to a statement from the Swedish national team, the decision was taken as a precaution to protect Svahn’s health and longer-term goals. “We have decided that Linn will skip the tour as a precautionary measure,” national team coach Stefan Thomson said in a press release.
Svahn’s absence is a significant loss for Sweden heading into one of the season’s key World Cup stage races, which typically plays a major role in overall standings and Olympic preparation. No details were provided about the exact nature of the injury or her expected return timeline.
