Cross-country: Linn Svahn after injury woes: “The spark is unchanged”

Swedish cross‑country sprinter Linn Svahn says repeated injuries and misfortune have derailed key moments of her career and forced her to miss major championships. Since her senior breakthrough in 2019, she has been viewed as a strong medal contender in sprint, but a damaged shoulder troubled her at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf and later kept her out of the 2022 Beijing Olympics. A fall ahead of the 2025 World Championships led to a concussion, causing her to miss that event as well.

Speaking in the documentary series “Utan filter – the cross‑country team towards the Olympics,” Svahn explains that despite the setbacks, her passion for skiing hasn’t faded: “My spark for skiing is unchanged — I just want to compete.” She also acknowledges ongoing anxiety about championships, noting that her plans have fallen apart “every time,” but she is now focusing on a healthy run‑up to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan–Cortina.

The piece underscores Svahn’s resilience and her goal to return to top form for an Olympic year, while recognizing the uncertainty that past injuries still bring.
