Linn Svahn not fully recovered after concussion: persistent neck issues
Originally published in Sveriges Radio – Radiosporten on August 09, 2025
Swedish cross-country skier Linn Svahn has not fully recovered from the injury she sustained in Trondheim ahead of the World Championships earlier this year. According to her coach, Ola Rawald, the crash the day before the championship opener led to a neck disc problem that still causes intermittent nerve-related symptoms.
Because of these issues, Svahn has had to avoid impact and jarring training such as running and rollerskiing during the summer. Instead, her program has prioritized cycling to maintain fitness while reducing stress on the neck.
Rawald explains that the nerve involvement in the neck can flare up at times, and the team is adapting training accordingly. The goal is to progress cautiously while monitoring symptoms, with no firm competitive return timeline stated in the report.
