Sweden’s Maja Dahlqvist has outlined her career timeline in SVT’s “Utan filter – landslaget mot OS,” saying she intends to ski two more seasons and then retire after the 2026 Olympics and the 2027 World Championships in Falun.
“If I can choose now, I want to stop then,” the 31‑year‑old said, noting that her focus is on Milan–Cortina 2026 and Falun 2027. Dahlqvist has been one of the world’s premier sprint specialists, finishing top five in the World Cup sprint standings every season since 2021 and winning the sprint globe in 2022 and 2023.
Her résumé includes two Olympic silvers, one Olympic bronze, three World Championship golds and two World Championship bronzes. The one major gap is an individual gold medal, which she aims to capture at Milan–Cortina in February 2026.
