Mathilde Myhrvold doubtful for Milano–Cortina 2026 after Tour de Ski crash

Norwegian cross‑country skier Mathilde Myhrvold admits her participation at the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics is in doubt after she was injured in a crash during the Tour de Ski sprint in Toblach.
Speaking to NRK the day after the incident, Myhrvold said, “I understand it could be difficult,” when asked about her Olympic chances. She crashed on the final downhill in the sprint final, suffering a shoulder dislocation. She was taken to a clinic, where the diagnosis was confirmed and the shoulder was treated. As a result, she withdrew from Tour de Ski after the opening day — just 40 days before the Olympic Games.
Norway team doctor Ove Feragen cautioned that it is too early to provide a clear timeline for her return, stating via SMS to Discovery that they need time to get a full overview of the injury before making decisions.
Myhrvold has not yet been selected for Norway’s Olympic squad. However, five women’s cross‑country roster spots remain open, and she would ordinarily be a strong candidate if fit.
