Moa Ilar secured the fourth World Cup podium of her career by placing third in the women’s 10 km classic at the season-opening World Cup in Ruka, Finland.

After the finish, Ilar publicly thanked two teammates for their support out on the course. First, she credited race winner Frida Karlsson for providing critical pacing and pulling. “We said before the race that we would help each other,” Ilar told Radiosporten, adding her thanks to Linn Svahn for her assistance during the effort.

The podium in Ruka was topped by Karlsson, with Norway’s Heidi Weng in second and Ilar in third. The Swedish camp highlighted the cooperative strategy as a key factor in Ilar’s result at the World Cup opener.
