Moa Ilar was disqualified in the sprint semifinal and ranked last, missing the sprint final.
Moa Ilar had a chance to reach the sprint final. She crossed the line fourth in her quarterfinal and still had a chance to advance as a lucky loser based on time. But officials later relegated her to sixth and last place in the heat because of obstruction — after she stepped out in front of another skier.
“That was bitter. The time I had would have been enough for the final. It sucks,” she told SVT Sport. “I’m not exactly sure. It seems to have been before the last downhill,” she added when asked about the situation.
As a result, Ilar lost her spot in the final and her place was taken by Anja Weber from Switzerland.
Johanna Hagström was the best Swedish finisher, taking third place in the race behind winner Jasmi Joensuu of Finland and runner-up Nadine Fändrich of Switzerland. Maja Dahlqvist finished fourth.
Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson and Märta Rosenberg were eliminated in the quarterfinals, and Moa Lundgren was — like Ilar — knocked out in the semifinal.
Ilar is now third in the overall standings of the Tour going into Sunday’s finale, 1 minute 38 seconds behind leader Jessie Diggins.
