Mogren’s Olympic warning: She can challenge Sweden’s sprint women

Radiosporten’s cross-country skiing expert Torgny Mogren has issued an Olympic warning to Sweden’s women’s sprint team. He points to Norway’s Mathilde Myhrvold as a rising contender after a series of strong World Cup sprint performances.
According to Mogren, Myhrvold was “hyper-strong” in Davos, where she nearly outsprinted Sweden’s Jonna Sundling in Saturday’s sprint. With the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics approaching, Mogren believes Myhrvold now belongs on the short list of athletes who could challenge Sweden for sprint medals.
Even so, Mogren still sees Kristine Stavås Skistad as Norway’s primary sprint star at the moment. In his view, Skistad remains the nation’s strongest overall in the discipline, while Myhrvold’s recent surge adds depth to Norway’s challenge against Sweden’s leading sprinters.
