Cross-country skiing: Good news — William Poromaa and Linn Svahn return for Trondheim World Cup

Swedish stars Linn Svahn and William Poromaa, who both missed the World Cup opener in Ruka because of illness, have been named to the team for the upcoming World Cup round in Trondheim, Norway.
Head coach Anders Byström said the team is ready to return to Granåsen and measure themselves against the world’s best, noting that the Swedish results in Ruka were encouraging for the season ahead. In addition to Svahn and Poromaa, promising youngster Alvar Myhlback is called up again after a strong weekend in Finland.
There is also a debut for 24‑year‑old Rikard Vestin, rewarded for strong results in the Smart Energy Cup. Byström added that Vestin had raced last season through the national quota in Falun, and now gets his first chance in the white national team kit. Meanwhile, experienced duo Jens Burman and Calle Halfvarsson remain outside the squad after underperforming in Gällivare and missing selection for Ruka.
