The joint regional relay between Southern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia is scheduled for Epiphany this year in Kauhajoki. In previous years, the event has often been postponed due to snowy conditions or scheduling conflicts.

However, this year, the competition director Sami Kiukkonen stated that the relay will proceed as planned thanks to the freezing temperatures, allowing it to be held on schedule in Kauhajoki.

The relay consists of eight segments, primarily utilizing the early-season snow and artificial snow. The distances for the segments vary from 2.5 kilometers to 6 kilometers.

Additionally, there will be a youth relay competing in the free style. Nine teams are registered for the regional relay, while the youth relay has ten teams participating.

Kiukkonen mentioned that they have organized engaging side activities around the event, such as offering moose soup, and promised the presence of the event's patron, Juha Miedon, at the competition.
