Several members of Sweden’s cross-country skiing national team have been forced to leave a high‑altitude training camp in Lavazè, Italy, because of illness.
According to the national team doctor, Rickard Noberius, the skiers are experiencing mild cold symptoms. However, given the number of cases, the team is taking extra precautions to limit further transmission within the group as they continue preparations for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The athletes who have left the camp are:
- Moa Lundgren
- Emma Ribom
- Jonna Sundling
- Märta Rosenberg
- Evelina Crüsell
- Elin Henriksson
The setback comes during an important phase of Sweden’s Olympic build‑up, with high‑altitude training intended to be a key part of their conditioning plan ahead of the winter season.
