Truls Gisselman sick — leaves the Olympics
Swedish cross‑country skier Truls Gisselman will not compete any more at the Olympic Games in Italy after falling ill. The 24‑year‑old announced on Instagram that he “got a bit sick on Friday the 13th” and has chosen to return home.
Gisselman’s last competitive race at these Olympic Games was the distance event where he finished 40th. Earlier during the Games he recorded an impressive seventh place in the opening skiathlon.
Gisselman has competed in two races at the Games — the skiathlon (7th) and the distance race (40th) — and will now end his Olympic stay early because of illness. Sveriges Radio’s Radiosporten reported the story and included Gisselman’s Instagram comment about falling ill on Friday the 13th.
