Norwegian Nordic combined star Jørgen Graabak has ended his competitive career after almost 15 years on the World Cup tour.
In a message posted on social media, the 34-year-old wrote that he has “decided to put the skis away” and is looking forward to “new adventures.”
Graabak’s long-time rival, Germany’s Johannes Rydzek, praised him: “What a career and what a joy that we shared this journey for so long.” The International Ski Federation lauded Graabak as a “unique athlete and great role model.”
Achievements - Olympic Games: Graabak captured two gold medals at each of the last two Games in which he competed — Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022 — for a total of four Olympic golds. - World Championships: Between 2019 and 2023, he won three team titles at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
Reflecting on his journey, Graabak said he has learned the value of curiosity, humility and critical thinking, and discovered a lot about himself — his reactions, qualities and values.
