Not just Tour win — Ski jumping legend worried! Prevc chases this record

Domen Prevc could add another record to his remarkable season in January. After dominant performances in the Four Hills Tournament he is now all but certain to take the overall title before the final competition in Bischofshofen (live coverage noted). Prevc leads by roughly 22 metres (41.4 points) over second-placed Austrian Jan Hörl.
With the Dreikönigsspringen Prevc plans a big show, even though Ren Nikaido’s win in Innsbruck means he cannot claim victories at all four venues this time. Beyond the Tour victory, the Slovenian “Domenator” has his sights set on a historic streak of podiums.
Prevc has now stood on the podium in 11 consecutive World Cup events. The all-time mark is 13 consecutive podiums, set nearly 21 years ago by Finnish legend Janne Ahonen. Given Prevc’s current form it looks feasible that he could overtake Ahonen’s record in January.
The piece also reminds readers that Ahonen has already lost another long-standing career record this season: Austria’s Stefan Kraft surpassed Ahonen’s all-time points total when Kraft collected his 46th career win in Falun.
