World champion Domen Prevc (SLO) extended his remarkable run by winning a fifth consecutive FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, triumphing in Engelberg (SUI). He became just the tenth male jumper to claim five or more World Cup victories in a row.

Prevc sat third after round one behind Olympic champion Ryoyu Kobayashi and Japan’s Ren Nikaido. In the final round, Prevc delivered a 142 m jump—an improvement on his 138.5 m opener—posting 330.2 points. With winds worsening, officials held Kobayashi at the start; the delay, stronger tailwinds, and a slightly weaker jump execution saw him fall to sixth, clearing Prevc’s path to victory.

Germany’s Felix Hoffmann surged two places to claim second with 326.4 points, his best World Cup result. Nikaido completed the podium with 318.1 points. Lifetime-best finishes also came from Austria’s Jonas Schuster (5th) and U.S. teenager Jason Colby (7th).

With the win, Prevc leads the overall World Cup by 219 points on 770, ahead of Kobayashi (551) and Anze Lanisek (488). “It was really difficult today… I’m really lucky with all that’s happening,” Prevc said, noting his focus after a poor qualification. Hoffmann said he is enjoying every jump, while Nikaido was pleased to reach the top three despite challenging tailwinds.

Engelberg hosts another World Cup on 21 December, with Prevc aiming to become only the sixth man to reach six straight wins. The day’s schedule lists women’s and men’s large hill qualifications and competitions (all times CET).
