World champion Domen Prevc (SLO) continued his blistering start to the season with a commanding win at the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Klingenthal (GER). Just hours after his sister Nika won the women’s event at the same venue, Prevc backed up his Wisła double with another victory to make it three World Cup wins in a row and strengthen his lead in the Crystal Globe standings.

Prevc flew 142.5 m and 143 m, well beyond the rest of the field, to win by 25.5 points with a total of 298.5. Stefan Kraft (AUT), back in action after welcoming his first child, produced 273.0 points for second, and home favourite Philipp Raimund (GER) finished third with 271.9.

Already the world record holder at 254.5 m in Planica last season, Prevc now leads the overall standings by 117 points over teammate Anže Lanišek (SLO). He said he felt great on the Klingenthal hill despite a busy week in Slovenia at the Sportsperson of the Year Awards.

Kraft praised his podium return given limited sleep and training time, while Raimund admitted he had struggled to adapt to the hill during training but was delighted to deliver a podium for the German crowd.

Fog and mist returned to the Vogtland Arena late in the day, though winds stayed light and stable. Several big names had mixed fortunes: Johann Andre Forfang (NOR) showed promise earlier in the weekend but could not convert in the competition; reigning Crystal Globe holder Daniel Tschofenig (AUT) and early-season leader Anže Lanišek (SLO) ended up 13th and 16th. German contenders Andreas Wellinger and Pius Paschke failed to advance from the first round.

The second round brought notable climbs from Japan’s Ren Nikaido and Ryoyu Kobayashi, who rose seven and five places to finish fourth and fifth respectively. Austria’s Jan Hörl slipped to sixth after the final series. Kraft briefly led after a strong 133.5 m second jump, Raimund held on for third, and Prevc closed the day with a decisive final leap to seal another dominant win.
