Ski jumping – Strong start: Austria’s Lisa Eder opens World Cup with podium in Lillehammer

Austria’s Lisa Eder began the women’s ski jumping World Cup season with a podium in the first individual competition at Lillehammer, Norway. The Salzburg native recorded jumps of 121 meters and 125.5 meters for a total of 255.4 points, moving from fifth after the first round to third place despite strengthening winds in the final.
Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama won convincingly with 285.5 points after jumps of 133.5 m and 130.5 m, securing the first World Cup victory of her career. Canada’s Abigail Strate was second with 259.7 points.
Austria’s Julia Mühlbacher finished 18th, improving by ten positions thanks to a strong second jump (105 m/122 m). The Lillehammer weekend continues with a second individual competition on Sunday (12:00 local time).
