After Engelberg: how World Cup standings changed for Poles and the red‑hot Domen Prevc

Domen Prevc’s remarkable streak continued in Engelberg, where the Slovenian captured his fifth consecutive FIS Ski Jumping World Cup victory. His form makes him the standout favorite heading into the Four Hills Tournament. In Saturday’s competition, Germany’s Felix Hoffmann took a surprise second place and Japan’s Ren Nikaido completed the podium.
From a Polish perspective, the overall picture did not improve. Kacper Tomasiak again led the team, rebounding from difficult wind in the first round to climb to 13th after a stronger second jump. Piotr Żyła placed 17th and Kamil Stoch 22nd, while the remaining Poles failed to score World Cup points.
In the overall standings, Tomasiak remains the top Pole in 16th position. Stoch, Żyła and Dawid Kubacki each dropped one spot due to Johann André Forfang’s strong showing. At the top, Prevc extended his lead over Ryoyu Kobayashi to 219 points, with fellow Slovenian Anže Lanišek currently third overall.
Engelberg hosts another individual World Cup on Sunday, with qualification scheduled for 14:30 before the main event.
