Johann André Forfang and Marius Lindvik suspended three months over illegal suit scandal

Norwegian Olympic ski jumping champions Johann André Forfang and Marius Lindvik have been handed three‑month suspensions by the International Ski Federation (FIS) following their involvement in the “non‑compliant suits” scandal.
The affair originated at the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim, where Norwegian jumpers’ suits were found to have been altered to enhance in‑air performance. Two coaches and a staff member from Norway’s team were also implicated. While the Norwegian federation acknowledged the equipment manipulation, it had maintained that Forfang and Lindvik were not directly responsible.
FIS nevertheless ruled that the two athletes bore responsibility for failing to question adjustments made to their suits. In addition to the suspensions, each athlete was fined 2,000 Swiss francs (about €2,100). Forfang and Lindvik have accepted the penalties, which, due to their timing, will not prevent them from taking part in the Milan‑Cortina Winter Olympics next February.
