French ski jumper Valentin Foubert recorded a top-10 finish on Saturday in the men’s World Cup round at Wisła, Poland, building on his standout fifth place in Ruka a week earlier—France’s best World Cup result in nine years.

Foubert, the only Frenchman in the field, was third in Friday’s qualification. He jumped 124 m for 125.0 points in the first round, then improved to 126.5 m for 131.8 points in the final, totaling 256.8 points to finish 12th overall after the second round reshuffle, despite having been cited as a top-10 performer during live coverage.

The competition was comprehensively won by Slovenia’s Domen Prevc, who produced a 136 m jump worth 140.6 points, then backed it up with 130 m in a tailwind to reach 286.2 points. It capped an excellent weekend for the Prevc family after his sister Nika won on the same Wisła large hill the day before.

Germany’s Philipp Raimund placed second with 279.4 points, and Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi completed the podium on 267.2 points. The men will jump again in Wisła on Sunday before the World Cup moves on to Klingenthal, Germany, next weekend.
