The women’s Ski Jumping World Cup stop in Klingenthal electrified the Vogtland-Arena, despite timing and results processing issues that caused delays before the final top‑ten jumpers.

Slovenia’s Nika Prevc prevailed again, earning her fourth victory of the season with jumps of 135 and 138 meters. She edged Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama, who posted 134 and 135 meters, after a tight head‑to‑head. Norway’s Anna Odine Strøm completed the podium.

Germany’s Selina Freitag was the top performer for the host nation. After opening with 126 meters, she delivered 131 meters from a shortened in-run in the final to briefly take the lead to huge cheers from the home crowd, eventually finishing fourth. Agnes Reisch, one spot ahead of Freitag after round one (126.5 m), produced 127.5 meters in round two and ended fifth, just behind her teammate.

Katharina Schmid (126 m and 123.5 m) struggled in the final, dropping six places to 13th. Juliane Seyfarth finished 22nd (116.5 m/118.5 m) a day after a controversial disqualification for insufficient ski‑tip bending—by just a millimeter, she said—measured with a device unfamiliar to athletes. Anna Hollandt missed the second round after 115 meters in her first jump, placing 33rd and about 1.5 meters short of the cut.

The atmosphere in Klingenthal remained buoyant throughout, with the German team placing two athletes inside the top ten and narrowly missing the podium at their home World Cup.
